Happy Sunday, Friends!
Today I am bringing you a post about my top three favorite online clothing purchases that I made this summer. My finances were divided between setting up an apartment with Bryce (needing absolutely everything) to traveling overseas. Buying clothing was not a top priority. Money had to go in other directions. So with that being said, I had to find fashion pieces that were budget friendly and versatile to style. I’m showing you my top three favorites as we kiss summer goodbye and welcome fall.
Outfit 1:
If a two-piece set ever said “boujee” it is this one. The daisy floral pattern and feminine ruffle detail mixes with “school girl” charm and adds a bit of sexiness that the brand For Love and Lemons is known for. The straps are adjustable and the top is lined with nude fabric. The coolest part of the outfit is the skirt and how see-thru it is without being risqué. The skirt has a built in “granny panty” in the same nude lining color as the top. It keeps you completely covered but allows you to see through the daisy cuts. One of my favorite things about this look is how well it travels. I can wad it up in my suitcase and it still looks perfect after an 8 hour flight. I wore it on my trip to Canada and didn’t have to steam it out in the shower (LOL, you feel?). Where did I buy this set? From eBay!! Crazy — right? Here’s how I buy brands I love without the huge price tag. I had to purchase the top separate from the skirt. I was fortunate because two different eBay sellers had the pieces I needed. The top is actually a size medium and the skirt is a small. In the search bar on the eBay website, I type in the brand and size I need. At your finger tips is a plethora of favorite brands, sizes, prices, and styles. Here are a few tips to help you navigate eBay. I recommend being careful purchasing from overseas sellers. Unfortunately there are many fakes made in foreign countries. You need to be educated on what the clothing label looks like as well as branding on the inside of garments. I did purchase a formal dress from Canada and it was authentic. Pictures are your best friend. When in doubt, message the seller with questions. Returns aren’t always accepted. Many of you know I sell my clothes that I have outgrown or become tired of on eBay, and that’s how I can afford to buy new ones. It is my side hustle, and someday I will share the “how to’s” in a blog post. You are always welcome to email me with questions. EBay is one of my very favorite online sites for purchasing new and used clothes. Most people are surprised when asked where I bought my dress from and the answer 9 times out of 10 is eBay.

My second online purchase was originally bought to wear to Kansas City’s Hot Country Nights and paired with cowboy boots. Summer blew by and Bryce and I just couldn’t make it to a Thursday country concert at the PNL. Not wanting to waste an outfit, this romper became my weekend mornings at the market or riding bikes in the city look. It has a “girl nextdoor” look and feel to it with those luscious ruffles but it is so practical. The romper has hidden pockets on each side and fabulous back detailing. It laces in the back giving you a great fit. I paired it with my red Madewell scarf and just some basic tan sandals from Express for a super relaxed but still put together look. It is so different looking than a lot of other rompers out there. If you could see yourself wearing this, go to VICI. They load regular new arrivals on Instagram. The store is based in Southern California, and it looks great on a wide range of ages. Do you remember a dress on Instagram I wore at Christmas? It was a long maxi with a sheer overlay. It was from VICI. Great customer service and a variety of prices. I hope I just turned you on to a new website for finding treasures.

Outfit 3:
My last online purchase is perfect for a summer day at the Plaza or heading for ice cream with friends. Bryce and I went plant shopping while I was wearing it. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. I picked up this piece from an online shop called Madida. It is located in Omaha. Super helpful staff when I considered returning it because the skirt of the two piece outfit was a tad too short for my long leg issues. With the fabric being totally gathered and ruched, it bunches over the top of the skirt making it feel even shorter. To fix this problem, my grandma sewed a little bit of lace trim to the bottom of the skirt and it looks as if it was meant to be there, adding a good inch to the hem of the skirt. Attaching lace is extremely easy to do. My grandma sewed it on the bottom, but I have seen non sewers use fabric glue to adhere trim.
This purple and white gingham two piece would be perfect paired with cowboy boots and a golden yellow neck scarf. I bought it for all the upcoming K-State football games and plan on wearing it with white sneakers and a deep purple bandana. G-O-W-I-L-D-C-A-T-S!
My goal with this blog post was to turn you on to new online stores that you might not have heard of before. Happy shopping, and for those of you starting school Monday, hope you have the best year ever! Adulting doesn’t allow naps like college does so cherish those moments!
