Hi Loves,

There’s no place like LOCAL for the holidays. A great way to kick off the gift buying season and support Kansas City small businesses is to attend the Strawberry Swing’s Merry Market in the City Market. I may be a little biased because the event takes place in my backyard (the River Market). Last year, my friend Jessi and I visited the Merry Market when it was located at Union Station. You may remember my haul with the cool rainbow ring that I still treasure.

Bundle up and enjoy the feeling of being transported to a European open-air market full of handmade, quality, one-of-a-kind items.

What is Strawberry Swing?

“Established in 2011, The Strawberry Swing is The Midwest’s celebration of the handmade movement, striving to showcase the highest quality goods in an inclusive and accessible environment. Entrepreneurship and community thrive in our ecosystem. Our network of markets and pop-ups allows communities to gather and share in local culture, provides a platform for entrepreneurial growth, and provides consumers with an active role in affecting their local economy and landscape.” -Strawberry Swing

What Can I Expect To See At The Merry Market?

There will be more than 90 merchants, artisans, crafters, and farmers each weekend at the City Market. Stroll down the stalls to find everything from homemade toffee, fresh pine wreaths and beautiful handmade jewelry. Bryce and I visited opening night and loved walking around with all of the Christmas lights on. It felt magical! So grab a warm cup of coffee and stroll the stalls for a nostalgic holiday shopping experience.

The Merry Market will be open to the public Nov. 26-28, Dec. 3-5, Dec 10-12, and Dec. 17-19. Hours will be Fridays, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Sundays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is free. For more information on what vendors will be there, check out their Facebook page.

Can’t wait to see you there!

Until next time, Spread Kindness.

  1. I want to visit the Merry Market to get small gifts for my family! I’m hoping to get some gift cards for Christmas to furnish my new house I move into in January!

  2. I was literally telling my husband I needed to hit up the farmers market this weekend for local goodies to go in my gift bags for my boudoir clients! Had no idea this was happening!
