Either S*** Or Get Off The Pot

Hi Loves,

Either S*** or Get Off The Pot.

That was harsh — but it probably wasn’t the first time that you have heard that saying (and if it was … you most likely needed to hear it).

Most importantly, you should constantly be telling yourself either “do it or don’t.”

This past year has been a rollercoaster.  I’ve experienced extreme highs (living with the world’s best roommate aka Bryce) and below sea level lows.  Whenever I experience a lot of change in a short amount of time, my mind goes into “helpless mode.”  I’ll suffer from imposter syndrome (not feeling like you are good enough to be somewhere), my workout routine gets kicked to the curb, and I’ll sleep more than anyone ever should.  Oh, and don’t let me forget the biggest one — my lack of persistent motivation and commitment.

My motivation during this stage “ping-pongs” back and forth.  I get bursts of energy and stick with it for a week, and then it’s gone as quickly as it arrived.  So frustrating. It’s a pain in the royal “hiney” and feels nearly impossible to fix or overcome.

There are times when losing motivation is okay … it’s part of being human.  Nobody in the world is on top of their game 24/7.  It’s pretty much impossible to be — however, there are a lot of actions that you can take whenever you feel like you’ve lost motivation and need to kick your “booty” into high gear.

TIP:  Write in the middle of a piece of paper “My Desires” and circle it.  Around the outside perimeter of the circle, write down everything you want to accomplish … little and big goals.  Draw little connecting arms off each individual goal with steps to accomplish them.  You will notice the ones that you cannot come up with steps for will need more thought, and the ones where you outlined an entire map to success could be accomplished within a week or two.

If you are like me, the biggest problem is coming up with excuses for myself for why not to do something.  Most people can come up with a goal, start working towards it, and then flip a switch and come up with reasons why they can’t.  There is motivation … but no follow through.

It’s called COMMITMENT — either COMMIT to something or don’t at all.  Get serious about it and attack it full force.  Don’t cheat yourself out on becoming the best version of you.

“Motivation is what gets you started.  Commitment is what keeps you going.” – Jim Rohn

“There’s a difference between interest and commitment.  When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient.  When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.” – Kenneth Blanchard

If you want a better body, get tired of your excuses and get to the gym and push yourself to eat nutritiously (okay, wow needed to hear that myself LOL).

If you want to start a blog, YouTube channel, Etsy Store, just do it!!!  Stop holding yourself back and dive in with your full heart.  We find out more about ourselves when we are in the unknown.  S*** or Get Off The Pot, Girl!

People do not change overnight, but their mindsets on how they live their lives can.

I challenge you to ask yourself everyday these fews questions:

  • What did I do to benefit my business/career today?
  • Did I push my self to sweat?
  • Were my main goals that I set for myself reached today?

That’s all for this week, loves.  Hope this post added a little value to your life and fire under your butt. Go after those dreams of yours and freaking crush them.

See you here next Wednesday!
